  • The Hilton Times Square, 234 W 42nd St, New York

We’ve stayed in about a dozen hotels around midtown and the Hilton Times Square has the largest rooms with the best location for our itinerary, plus super nice staff.

  • Like all hotels, Hilton Times Square offers a baggage check room. If you’re checking IN, they will hold your bags for free. If you’re checking OUT, they will charge a nominal fee per bag (last time I paid, it was $5 per bag). We recommend tipping!

    • 2-3 dinners (depending on the trip and tier) (excludes alcoholic beverages)

    • Breakfast at the hotel for Saturday, Sunday; and Monday (if staying through Tuesday)

You are responsible for lunches, snacks, additional meals (e.g. late night bar food), and any alcoholic beverages (also, any souvenirs).

Typically when we (Kari and Kim) go, we eat a lighter lunch on the go (there are plenty of great places to grab a slice of pizza or a sandwich or salad bar kind of location; we will share are favorites with you). Those may run around $10-20 or so, depending on what you choose.

We sometimes eat a heavier meal before the show. We’ll be eating dinner fairly early so we can get to the theatre on time. That meal (if on your own) can run you about $30-50+ per person depending on what you choose. Alcoholic beverages in New York are just as expensive as you’d imagine they’d be: typically $15-20 per drink, plus tip.

The theatres do sell beverages, alcoholic, non-alcoholic and water, as well as snacks. Typically snacks run around $5. Drinks run $5-35 – if you keep your cup you can get a refill at intermission for much less. The highest prices ($19-35) are the alcoholic “double” drink, which comes with the show’s souvenir cup. The soft drinks can also be purchased in the souvenir cup (around $10).

  • Your $500 per person non-refundable deposit is due upon booking.

You will need to choose any “add-on” items before October 31, 2025. Anything you want to book after that date will need to be booked and paid for directly by you.

Your balance will depend upon add-ons and the number of people in your party per room.

The balance of your trip will be due by October 31, 2025. NOTE: the balance at that time will NOT include your hotel room cost because you will be paying Hilton in person at check-in. We have only reserved your room(s).

  • Yes. The cost quoted is for 2 people per room. If you plan to room solo, plan to pay approximately $900 more for the trip. If you have more than two people in a room, we will adjust the room costs down accordingly, up to four people (no more than 4 per room). Call for specifics.

  • No. Each separate party on this trip will stay in their own hotel room(s). You will not share with someone you don’t know. The rooms have two queen beds and accommodate two adults or up to two adults and two children comfortably.

  • The options for add ons include these (subject to availability):

    • Museum tickets

    • Double decker bus tours

    • Observation decks

    • Backstage tours (e.g. Radio City Music Hall, NBC Studios; Broadway walking tours)

    • Food tours

    • Reservations for additional restaurants, nightclubs, and/or bars

    • And probably much more! Let’s discuss.

  • The earlier you book your spot(s), the more likely you are to have a ticket to those shows. We cannot guarantee that great seats (or seats at all) will be available as we get closer to the trip dates.

We recommend booking ASAP for your best chances of great seats.

If you book late and the show is sold out, we will make sure you have an amazing experience anyway! We’ll work with you to pick a show or experience you’ll love.

  • No. You will be expected to purchase your own travel to and from New York City.

  • We recommend La Guardia for its ease, with JFK as the second choice. Though Newark is often cheaper, it is much less convenient (especially with all the issues this year!).

  • Yes, roundtrip car service is included if you are traveling from LGA or JFK. If you choose Newark, you will need to pay the difference of the car service cost for Newark vs. LGA or JFK.

  • No. If you decide to take the subway, taxi, shared ride, or pedicab, you are responsible for those costs. The reason we chose the Hilton Times Square is that it is still close enough to walk to almost everything you may do on your trip, but it’s not right in Times Square so it’s not as noisy and bright as those hotels can be.

  • No. We are currently limiting the trip to 8 total individuals but if you have more in mind, please contact us to discuss! We’d love to accommodate you.

  • Yes. While some restaurants and activities in New York City are not easily accessible to everyone, the Hilton Times Square and the key activities of this trip (e.g. shows and restaurants) are accessible. We can work with you to make your plan for getting around if you have restrictions.

IF YOU NEED ACCOMMODATIONS, please tell us when you book your spot(s).

  • Wicked the Broadway musical recommends that theatre-goers be age 8 and up. Children under 8 may not be permitted to enter.

Christmas Spectacular starring the Radio City Rockettes has no age restrictions but there are loud bangs and “fireworks” that can startle young children.

The Wicked Christmas trip itself has no real age restrictions other than the recommendation for seeing Wicked (age 8+).

You will do a lot of walking in New York! But it can be done at your own pace, provided you leave enough time to get to your destination. Sometimes theatres will have lots of stairs but there are always restroom options for those who cannot navigate stairs.

The accessibility information for the Gershwin Theater, where we’ll see Wicked, can be found HERE.

The accessibility information for Radio City Music Hall can be found HERE.

IF YOU NEED ACCOMMODATIONS, please tell us when you book your spot(s).

  • November 7, 2025 is the cancellation deadline, when you can cancel your trip for a full refund of what you’ve paid to date (minus the $500 pp non-refundable deposit).

If you must cancel after November 7, we do not guarantee a refund, but we will definitely work with you and do our best to refund as much as possible from the trip (e.g. some activities may be able to be refunded minus a fee, etc.).

  • Clothing:

Walking shoes are a must. We recommend comfortable clothing for moving about New York during the day, with layers to accommodate the typical seasonal chill in late November. For evenings, and perhaps for daytime too, you’ll probably need a warmer coat or jacket. We also recommend a warm hat. Theatre-goers nowadays wear a variety of clothing, from very casual to very dressy. When we (Kim and Kari) go to NY, we typically change from our daytime outfit into something a little nicer for the evening/night but still comfortable for walking (e.g. high heels are tough in NY). It’s definitely fun to dress up for the holidays to go to the Christmas Spectacular!

    Other tips:

Bring extra socks. Maybe you won’t need them but we always seem to go through them faster than expected.  😉

We like to bring a tote bag around the city with us to carry snacks, an umbrella (if needed), and for our purchases while out and about. There are so many fun places to souvenir shop!

And remember, this is New York! If you get there and discover you wish you had a scarf, you have TONS of places to pick one out. Actually, that’s another reason we bring a tote bag…we end up bringing home much more than we came in with!
